We're taught lessons of life through circumstances we would never agree to if given the choice. ~LadyAmp

Lady Amp was created to help those woman who are facing a life changing ordeal. Through experience, I've found that the one thing an amputee needs to do is remember who they were before the amputation, and this is especially true for women.

For many women amputees, the thought that they are no longer who they were is an emotional roller coaster. It takes a 'special woman' to overcome the pitfalls society and ourselves create for us. That's why 'A Woman First' is my motto. Being an amputee is only a condition. We were born women and we can face whatever challenge is put before us, even that of leading a productive, normal life after amputation.

I can offer advice, suggestions and hopefully some insight on how to deal with your amputation as well as links to important things you should know. Once you know you aren't alone, the healing of your mind, your body and your heart can begin. I've included a 'Journal', an on-going, always in-progress record of this Lady Amps triumphs, setbacks and even a few successes. This is based a lot from memory, even more from my husbands memory and my own discoveries since December 12th, 1999 when I became a (L) BKA.

When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. ~Anonymous
