Life After Amputation

There really is a life after amputation, though at the time we rarely think there is. For many of us it's the support of family and friends that make overcoming what we must, a reality. With time, patience with ourselves in knowing what our own abilities are, we do survive what we thought never possible. And most of the time we're a better person than when we started.

I can't give you medical advise, or diagnosis a problem, that's between you and your doctor. But I can hopefully give a little insight into the daily life of an amputee, what we face everyday. And maybe, just maybe, I can help ONE person.

There are thousands of websites on the Internet with information for the amputee. I think I've visited every one of them in search
of information. They are excellent resources and full of the information every amputee should know and even a parent of an amputee child. But, the one thing I didn't find was the personal approach to being an amputee. The day-to-day emotional and physical way of life an amputee faces each new day. Many of the articles I've gleaned (with permission) are from top researchers and prosthetists in the field. But the one thing I don't want this site to be is impersonal. You won't find tons of advertising or links to advertisers. Those links that are important to an amputee I have added to this website.

Please follow the links on the left to view the information I've gathered for you. I leave where you go from here up to you :-)
